KCCI is hosting three forums on Sunday, October 17 to familiarize voters with the candidates for the Des Moines City Council election. We are inviting a limited audience to the taping of these forums on Sunday evening, October 17th. Doors to the small auditorium at Franklin Jr. High will open at 5pm, the forums will begin at 6pm and conclude at approximately 8pm. Attendees will be required to show their EventBrite ticket (paper or digital), an ID and either proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in the previous 72 hours. Masks or face coverings are recommended. Stacey Horst will moderate the At-Large discussion between candidates Connie Boesen and Justyn Lewis. James Stratton will moderate the discussion for Ward 1 with candidates Marcus Coenen, Bill Gray and Idira Sheumaker. Rheya Spigner will moderate the conversation with the Ward 3 candidates Josh Mandelbaum, Cory McAnelly and Brandi Webber. This forum is made possible by the financial support of AARP Iowa.
