1. SUMMARY The Custodian on Duty represents the Center in a professional manner and provides a well-organized, safe and comfortable environment for our members and guests. 2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Responsible for disarming alarm/opening of both buildings, rooms etc., as well as setting alarms, securing each building, rooms etc. each afternoon.  Set up and tear down of meeting rooms, consisting of moving and arranging of furniture.  Attends to and performs maintenance, general cleaning and the cleaning of offices the first and third Saturday of the month (Oct-May), or if needed sooner.  Ability to learn to operate basic lighting and sound systems for theater  Helps with other miscellaneous duties as they arise as well as assist front desk volunteer when needed.  Available to work weekends, some evening and during special events.  Incumbent must be flexible to changing policies and procedures, as well as varying deadlines. 3. LEADERSHIP Maintains a positive upbeat role in the Company. Promotes and exemplifies Joslyn Center values and represents Center objectives and interests to internal and external customers. 4. COMMITMENT TO SERVICE Follows up on complaints, questions, and concerns that come to the Center; responds to internal and external customer needs in a timely and efficient manner. Develops and promotes teamwork and cooperation among fellow employees and managers. Shows an appropriate sense of urgency in completing work and addressing the needs of others. 5. Education and/or experience – High school diploma or equivalent and/or trade/vocational certificate encouraged. Must have some prior facility maintenance experience. Enjoys working with seniors from all levels of society is also helpful.
