Fire At Apartment Complex On Ohio Street Displaces 2 Families

TAMPA, FL — Two families were left homeless when an electrical malfunction caused a second-story bedroom to catch fire at an apartment complex in the 300 block of East Ohio Avenue Tuesday. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the fire at 12:17 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from one of the units on the second floor. When they entered, fire crews found the bedroom fully involved. They searched but all residents were able to make it out without injuries. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the two families who were displaced.
