A fundraising event for kids filled with fall activities; carnival style games, sack races, a costume contest, family portraits and more! Please support our chapter and get into the fall spirit by attending our Friends Festival! Friends of the Children is a non-profit in Tampa Bay that is distinct, courageous and proven. Our chapter is one of 24 chapters across the country; we are compiled of 55 youth and 7 paid mentors, or Friends, that work with each child a minimum of 16 hours/month over the course of 12+ years, from kindergarten through high school graduation. We have redefined the youth mentoring field by creating the first and only long-term professional mentoring program in the country. Our Friends are experts in building sustained and nurturing relationships with youth who have faced a lot of adversity. We have the data to show that it's real and that it works. $40/family. Your admission ticket includes 40 tickets to spend on festival activities. Additional tickets will be available for a $1. Day of admission tickets will be available at the door for $50/family. Friends of the Children–Tampa Bay selects children ages 4–6 years old directly from the foster care system and high-poverty schools in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties. We then pair them with a salaried, prfoessional mentor (a Friend) who acts as a "life navigator," staying with them from kindergarten through graduation – 12+ years, no matter what.  Our mission is impacting generational change by empowering youth facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors – 12 + years, no matter what.
