About the Job Since 1997 we have been a leading Durable Medical Equipment supply company specializing in Patient Lift Systems - we do sales, service, maintenance, and installation, serving California and Nevada. We have an immediate opening for a combination repair and installation technician to join our growing team to provide great service to our many disabled clients, including veterans. • WE PROVIDE EXCELLENT HANDS-ON TRAINING. Duties & Responsibilities: Daily installation, troubleshooting, repair & general maintenance of a variety of Durable Medical Equipment, including Surehands Ceiling Track Systems (www.surehands.com), Stair Lifts, and Porch Lifts (www.bruno.com), Ramps (see www.ezacess.com), and other equipment as needed. Warehouse and shipment receiving and organization. • This position is full-time and requires excellent communication skills to coordinate repairs and purchase orders with our head office in Brentwood. • The average workday is about 2 hrs. driving and 6 hrs. of maintenance work. • The initial training period will last between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your previous experience. • You will be required to work longer days during the training period, with possible Saturdays for training, to complete the training faster. • You will interact with the office staff, the other installation team members, and work independently for repairs. Qualifications: • The right person will have an outstanding reputation for customer service (this will be verified). • Minimum of 2 years of construction and framing experience. • Understanding of electronic circuitry & troubleshooting. • You will be capable of working in attics to perform the ceiling track installations as needed. • You will have a good sense of math calculations to measure and calculate accurately. • General knowledge of medical conditions would be a great help as you will be dealing with clients in wheelchairs most of the time. Requirements: • The ability to use a multi-meter and all hand and power tools. Some tools will be provided. You will have your own set of basic hand tools. • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components. • Ability to navigate the internet and to use a laptop and programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. • Must also own basic tools. • Have a good driving record. • Have familiarity with Bay Area roads, common sense, and professional manners. • Good communication skills - Bilingual Spanish/English is a major plus. • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. • Must pass a background check, and send to us your driving record from DMV. • A drug test will be given to ensure that you are clean and drug-free. Compensation: • The hourly wage range is between $ 20/hour to $ 25/hour depending on qualifications, experience, performance, and overall skills. • If you are sharp, motivated, detail-oriented, and can work well alone, your wage will advance very rapidly. • You will drive a company vehicle but must have your own small truck or van in case it is needed for travel. • Great Kaiser Medical Platinum Plan. • Paid time off. • Future 401K Program. • Future Profit Sharing.
