RENTON, WA — The Renton Police Department is looking to hear from anyone who saw a blue SUV hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk Wednesday morning, then flee from the crash scene. According to police, a woman crossing the street near South Puget Drive and Benson Drive South suffered significant injuries to her leg. The victim was alert when officers arrived and witnesses helped describe a "new-ish, blue-colored small SUV," which continued south on Benson Drive before turning right onto South 16th Street, police said. Investigators police the vehicle involved has visible front-end damage and a broken windshield. Anyone who saw the crash or the vehicle is encouraged to contact the non-emergency line at 425-235-2121, including drivers with dash cameras or residents with home security footage that may have caught a glimpse of the vehicle.
