Description
NBC is salivating over Tom Brady's return to New England. The network's "Sunday Night Football" offering expects to be one of the most highly-rated games of the season.
But a sizable segment of fans may not be able to watch the Buccaneers-Patriots game this weekend.
Google-owned YouTube TV and NBCUniversal are having major contract disputes, so much so that YouTube TV could lose more than a dozen NBC channels after Thursday.
That means that NBC (along with MSNBC, CNBC, The Golf Channel and many other popular channels) won't be available to YouTube TV. And that means "Sunday Night Football" won't be available to YouTube TV subscribers.
While regional subscriber numbers aren't available, YouTube TV is a popular alternative for people who have cut the cable cord. The service said in an email to subscribers this week the monthly price will drop from $64.99 to $54.99 if the NBC package drops off.
NBC is still available on most services, including its Peacock streaming service.
The Patriots host the Buccaneers Sun., Oct. 3, at 8:20 p.m.
