Job Title: Yard / Wrap Building Coordinator SUMMARY: The Yard/Wrap Building Coordinator is responsible for ensuring cast stone concrete products are labeled, wrapped, and tagged correctly prior to being transported to the job site. Participates as a member of the yard crew in back up of all additional functions as needed. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: PATCHING • Performs yard patching as needed to ensure structural soundness of all work produced. • Pieces should be staged and ready for patching each night for the next day. o Match color of concrete being patched. o Use appropriate hand tools. o Perform needed repairs as directed Bug holes, spalls, cracks, or if etching is too deep, do a slurry rub to rub it back in and wash it back out. • Determine which patching is done on the spot, and which sits overnight or goes back to be washed. WRAPPING / LOADING • Performs start up inspection at beginning of each shift to ensure equipment is safe to operate. • Helps with the movement of product from the plants to the acid wash area, yard, and wrap area. • Labels packing slips on concrete pieces for proper job identification and correct transporting. • Performs an overall QC check to ensure all products are of high quality before wrapping. • Assembles concrete products on pallets and wraps securely and appropriately. • Transports concrete products, loading on trailers for final shipment for delivery to job site without breakage. • Works to learn continuously, showing initiative to build upon current knowledge and skill. • Exhibits sound and accurate judgement to ensure high quality and accuracy of the process. • Listens to and takes direction respectfully. • Asks questions when necessary to ensure clear communication and understanding. • TASK LIST: o Once patching is complete, get list from Yard Manager. o Match piece on list to tag on finished piece, including pieces that were not patched. o Ensures skid # and packing list match up appropriately. The right pieces on the right pallets. o Move pieces with forklift as needed and load on skid. o Ensure pieces have proper dunnage underneath and in between to cushion; using foam or bubble pads as protection. o Wrap with shrink wrap using wrap machine. o Place the packing slip, which lists all skidded pieces, into the packing envelope and place on the skid. o Using a Sharpie on plastic topper to write the job name and skid number. o Remove pallet from wrap machine with forklift and place in designated location. PRODUCTION / PACE • Shows strong work performance and accepts accountability for work performed. • Understands the importance of pace; setting the standard of a consistent pace, keeping up with the team. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • The ability to lift 50 pound several times a day • Strong organizational skills, efficient • Strong detail orientation skills • Aptitude to learn and operate crane, forklift, skid loader, semi yard trailer • Ability to climb ladders for transporting of concrete products • Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather conditions • Ability to be productive and work independently without supervision • Good housekeeping skills • Good communication and teamwork skills • Safety minded when operating all equipment • Strong work ethic • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed • Willingness to be at work on time every day! • Self-motivated and self-directed. • Takes direction well from Yard Supervisor and Yard Manager $16 + depending on experience Please contact JANY directly.
