Here are the top stories today in Burlington: A truck carrying shingles rolled over, slowing traffic on I-89 near Burlington. The 53-foot truck tipped over, causing both passing lanes to close. According to emergency response crews, a 53-foot truck hauling asphalt shingles tipped over near exit 14, a main Burlington interchange. The crash caused both passing lanes on the interstate to temporarily close. The driver, however, was not injured. (WPTZ)The University of Vermont broke ground on a new multimillion-dollar research facility Thursday. The Firestone Medical Building is expected to house more than 200 personnel and provide the school of medicine with 150 new research labs. Construction of the building began in October of last year and the total cost of the project is estimated at $45 million. It's expected to be complete in 2023.
