Detroit Ice Dreams Detroit Ice Dreams Hockey Association is a 501(c) (3) youth hockey organization that minimizes the barriers, which prevent underrepresented communities from access to ice hockey a non-traditional sports within their neighborhood. Detroit Ice Dreams was established in 2014 after the dissolution of the Detroit Hockey Association. Detroit Ice Dreams was founded by a former inner city youth hockey player who got his start playing hockey in the city of Detroit at Jack Adams Memorial Arena. He then went on to play professional hockey overseas. Once he retired he wanted to give other youth the opportunity to enjoy the great sport of hockey and the benefits of being exposed to something that wasn’t traditional or represented within his neighborhood; thus this is where the dream of Detroit Ice Dreams began. EDUCATE - Enjoy Detroit is dedicated to building future leaders through education, mentorship and empowerment . REVITALIZE - All parts of Detroit should be enjoyable. VICTORY - Enjoy Detroit believes in an environment of inclusion; EVERYONE IS A WINNER! ELEVATION - Enjoy Detroit sets no limitations on the growth of our city or the people within our community. David Woods is a true visionary of a dream come true. At a very young age, David knew that he would be an entrepreneur and would be a beacon of light for his peers, and everyone else his Spirit of an Enjoyable Detroit touches everyone he meets. He has successfully integrated his unwavering passion for our city to thrive, and his strong business and entrepreneurial acumen, creating a platform for our youth to stand united and uplift our great City. David’s passion for the youth resulted in the founding of Enjoy Detroit, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization started in 2013, with a passion for contributing positive change to the City of Detroit. David, along with dedicated team and numerous volunteers. Enjoy Detroit has been able to connect with the youth in the Metropolitan Detroit area, through their volunteer efforts and consistent involvement in city rehabilitation activities and initiatives. David has made giving back look very cool, while wearing apparel with the Enjoy Detroit logo proudly across his chest.
