Press release from Columbia Fire Department: Michael DeSumma September 30, 2021 The Columbia Police Department is looking for a male suspect wanted in connection with a fire that took place in the Booker Washington Heights neighborhood of Columbia on Wednesday evening September 29, 2021. Crews with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department responded to the scene on the 3400 block of Beaumont Avenue shortly before 11:15 p.m. Upon their arrival firefighters found a home on the block completely engulfed in flames. The fire was eventually brought under control and extinguished and there were no injuries. There are warrants for his arrest on burglary and arson charges.
