Hudson County Latino Foundation Earns Legal Accreditation

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Hudson County Latino Foundation was approved by the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of Legal Access Programs as an Accredited Agency in New Jersey. The accreditation means the foundation can service hundreds of people who need immigration legal assistance. The foundation is now only the third agency in Hudson County and the only one in Passaic County with the accreditation. The foundation said it will begin to offer select immigration services throughout these communities shortly. "In 2017, we set a goal to become an accredited agency recognized by the Department of Justice. Today, our team is ready to offer the highest quality of service to individuals seeking legal naturalization who do not have sufficient financial resources. We are thankful for the thorough and diligent review by the DOJ and the U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Service," said David Miranda, HCLF's Chief Operating Officer. HCLF joins 37 other accredited agencies across the state, where almost a quarter of all residents are foreign born. This accreditation amplifies the work of the Foundation and will allow HCLF to expand into areas of greater need. "I am extremely proud of our team's ability to deliver on one of the Foundation's key milestones we set since our inception. This achievement was not possible without the dedication and resiliency exemplified by our colleagues," said Miranda.
