Sexual Assault Charges: Joliet Man Has Arrest Warrant

JOLIET, IL— A 26-year-old Joliet resident faces two felony sex crimes filed this week by Joliet police. Now, a Will County bench warrant has been issued for his arrest. The criminal complaint charges Juan C. Sanchez with one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Will County Judge Art Smigielski has set bail at $750,000 for Sanchez, who had not been taken into police custody as of Sept. 30. According to the complaint, Sanchez had sexual relations with a teenage girl who was at least 13 years old but under the age of 18. Sanchez turns 27 in November, court records show. Joliet police say that Sanchez had sex with the girl between March 1 and April 30. According to the arrest warrant, Sanchez resides on Joliet's east side, in one of the apartment units in the 700 block of Second Avenue.
