DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Two men tried to steal a car at gunpoint while its driver was pumping gas at a gas station in Downers Grove Thursday afternoon, police say. The men were unable to start the car and fled in a dark-colored minivan.
The incident took place at the BP gas station located at 4314 Main St. around 1:15 p.m.
Police say both men approached the driver, who ran off when one man displayed a handgun. When the man were unable to start the car, they got into a minivan, which had two other people inside, and drove off.
The minivan, which is pictured below was last seen getting onto eastbound I-88 from Highland Avenue. A detailed suspect description was not available as of Thursday afternoon.
