Description
Are you looking for a deep bond with a special girl? Read on! My name is Lilah. I am a sweet, orange and white 5-year-old female Maine Coon. I am a retired breeding queen. I was kept in a bedroom and required to produce litter after litter. The breeder surrendered me to a rescue. I was hoping to find my forever home, but my current place is a little too busy for me. My ideal home is quiet, laid back, where I can be the only kitty and not have to worry about my food being eaten or doing anything other than napping in a sunbeam. I have lived my life as a kitten-producing machine, and I deserve a place where I can rest and let my beautiful personality shine through. I currently don't have the perfect coat that I usually have; the rescue had to shave down some of my matted fur. With good nutrition, grooming, and love, I will continue to blossom into the beauty I was destined to be. I am spayed; no more kittens for me :) True to my breed, I am lovable, enjoy pets and scratches, being groomed, and adored. I also like playing in my water bowl. I will follow you around once I get comfortable and know that I am safe. I make all the good kitty noises like meows, chirps and trills in my soft kitty voice. I really enjoy being able to sit in the sun outside but I do want to be an indoor kitty for my safety. And, after all, that's where the food is! Please know a bit about my breed to understand what a treasure I am. "Maine coons are large breeds, require consistent companionship, and, because of their large stature, can develop joint disease such as arthritis or hip dysplasia; they are also predisposed to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and dental disease can be quite common in this breed." "Maine coons are soft, gentle giants who love to spend time with their humans. They very much expect to be part of the family and aren't big on personal space or privacy. These cats are delighted at the thought of following you from room to room as you go about your day. Though Maine coons are definitely affectionate and social, they're not usually lap cats. This breed typically prefers to hang out beside you rather than on top of you -- which can be a good thing, considering their size. They are incredibly intelligent, fun-loving, and will keep their kittenish playfulness well into old age. The Maine Coon Cat Club calls them the 'clowns of the cat world.' They're not an aggressive breed, and will tolerate being picked up, held, and cuddled. These animals are friendly, kind, and patient with children." A small rehoming fee is required to make sure I go to the forever home that I deserve. Thank you for visiting! Lilah
