Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: 09/29/2021 9:33 AM LOCATION:       451 Riverview Parkway, Santee DECEASED:       Withheld On September 28, 2021, just after 6:00 p.m., deputies at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility found a female inmate unresponsive in her cell. Deputies and medical staff performed lifesaving measures until relieved by fire department personnel. The inmate was transported to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.     The Homicide Unit responded to investigate the death. The woman was in a cell by herself. No evidence of foul play was discovered. The identity of the woman is known to investigators; however, her name is being withheld pending family notification.
