On Sept. 14, Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) announced a new temporary health order designed to protect residents from the highly infectious delta variant strain of COVID-19.
"To save lives, prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed and keep schools open, we must do all we can now to prevent another surge in cases this winter," health officials said.
As of Sept. 22, 2021, everyone 12 years and older must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, or a negative test result, before going to high-risk indoor businesses in Contra Costa County. Workers at these businesses must be fully vaccinated or test weekly, starting Nov. 1, 2021.
Everyone 12 years and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative test result before going into or working at a high-risk indoor place, including:
Restaurants Bars Theaters where food and beverages are served Gyms Recreation facilities Yoga studios Dance studios You can show proof of vaccination by showing photo ID and one of the following items:
Your CDC vaccination record card or a copy or photo of your card Your digital vaccine record issued by the State of California Documentation from your healthcare provider stating you're fully vaccinated Learn More
