EAST BAY — A $10 million drug operation was taken down in the East Bay on Wednesday, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
"We estimate at this time that we have seized over 100,000 plants and upwards of $10,000,000 in cash," the agency said in a news release late Wednesday. "In addition, there are millions of dollars in infrastructure, equipment, lighting, generators and supplies used to facilitate the grows."
The sheriff's office called it one of the largest illegal grow operations in the state.
More than a dozen search warrants were executed throughout the East Bay.
Sgt. Ray Kelly, Public Information Officer, estimated that it will take several days to process the evidence, adding, "The enormity and complexity of this illegal grow operation cannot be expressed in words or pictures, it's unbelievable."
