(MLB.com)The Atlanta Police Department responded to videos of stowaways clinging to the outsides of big rigs barreling down Atlanta interstates at 65 or 75 mph: The perpetrators need to stop, they said, and anyone filming the "death wish of sorts" should turn off the camera and call 911. (CBS46 News Atlanta)Since the Supreme Court struck down the moratorium against evictions Aug. 26, landlords are filing more and more evictions despite the availability of tens of millions of dollars in rental assistance. Eviction filings in the most recent two weeks were up 19 percent compared to two years ago. According to housing advocates, rental assistance in metro Atlanta has prevented the removal of thousands of families, but most of the money has still not been disbursed. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)Who in Georgia can receive coronavirus booster vaccinations? Gov. Brian Kemp and Dr. Kathleen Toomey, the state's top health official, said Georgia will follow new federal rules allowing Americans to get Pfizer booster shots if they've received a second dose six months earlier and meet eligibility requirements. The number of people killed in traffic crashes in Atlanta so far this year – 60 – nearly eclipses the total number of traffic fatalities in 2020, when 65 people died on city streets, according to the Atlanta DOT. Workers are now changing out more than 1,000 speed-limit signs, a project they hope to have largely finished by the end of 2021.
