I have an immediate opening for a Barn Assistant at Will Rogers Equestrian Ranch in Queen Creek.. Please read qualifications carefully. 1. Over 18 2. Physically fit enough to push wheel barrels and load hay in kubota 3. Dependable 4. Horse savy 5. Able to work and stay on task without supervision. 6. A certain amount of flexibility in scheduling 7. Dependable 8. Ability to work out doors in any weather (within reason of course) 9. prior tractor experience is helpful but not required. 10. Good work ethic and takes pride in a job well done. 11. Team player 12 Pays attention to details 13. DEPENDABLE!! This is a part time position, with anywhere from 5 to 9 shifts per week. It involves feeding anywhere from 25 to 60 horses per shift/ cleaning the same number of stalls/ waterers. There is also much facility maintenance that I need help with so a person can pick up hours there as well. Shifts can last any where from 2 to 5 hours depending on how many horses and what extra tasks need done around the barn. Facility maintenance includes repairing broken waterers, stripping and prepping open stalls, general clean up, repairing fence as needed, weeding, etc. There are 2 shifts per day, 7 days per week that must be covered by the team. Livestock are fed right around 6am and 6 pm daily. Stall cleaning may be done prior too feeding or after feeding. I am very flexible in that respect. Facility maintenance happens as needed. Its always needed. Horses break stuff. Alot! This is not a position for someone who wants to learn about horses. You must have several years of equine care under your belt. whether it be your own horses or as a professional. Starting pay is $13.75 an hour, with increased compensation as skill and efficiency increases. No one stays at the starting rate for long, as long as they do a good job. This is an immediate opening that must be filled ASAP. I am hoping to find someone who would like to stay on permanently as part of our team. It is a relaxed atmosphere, we like to laugh and have a good time even when we are working.
