SATYS S&P USA is located in Portland Oregon on the grounds of the Portland International Airport and is currently recruiting for and has an immediate need to hire full-time Trainee Painters to facilitate in day-to-day cleanliness of the facility and support to painters of large commercial aircraft. Positions start at $15.88 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.57/hour on your first 40 hours worked per week. Overtime hours in schedule as well. After successful completion of our Training Program in house, you will be automatically bumped to Trainee Painter II with a pay rate of $18.43/hour plus shift differential. Pay for skilled painters through our program are up to $26+ an hour. Day, night and weekend work 10.5 hour shifts will be required. *Shifts are 7a-630p (days) and 7p-630a (nights) and you must be able to work both shifts as we flop to the other shift approximately every 4 months.* Final candidates must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen and physical. As a Trainee Painter you will be trained on and off the aircraft to do the following: Masking areas of the aircraft that are not to be sanded or painted. Sanding specific areas and / or entire aircraft depending on model. Performing the wash process to ensure surface is ready for primer & paint. Final masking of all areas not to be painted. Prepping aircraft for prime & paint (wipe, blow & tack). Priming & painting large areas such as the fuselage, wings and engines. Reading customer aircraft drawings. Locating, applying & painting stencils and decals according to the drawings. Performing touchups with paint to ensure the best quality. Driving scissor lifts as well as 45’ & 80’ boom lifts up to 60’ heights. Other duties of this job include but are not limited to: Safety Observation “spotting” movement of lifts around the aircraft. Maintain the clean hangar floors by shifting shams. Help painters with tool maintenance by doing detailed cleaning of pressure pots, mini-jets and 5000’s. Rolling Triple paper and regular rolls. Cleaning pots and guns after each application. Clean bull dog pumps & setting them up prior to the cleaning processes. Help with material stocking making you aware of consumption and where things are located. Washing lifts and the hangar floors periodically to reduce contamination. Prepare baskets prior to paint by wrapping them in plastic. Perform daily hangar sweeps to gather materials left behind in lifts and return them to the stock room.
