Stolen weekend bag with valuables

7th street near Martin Luther king drive, San Francisco CA

Traveling from out of town. Parked by the rec fields on MLK drive the evening of 9/29. Someone smashed the back window out of our black Mitsubishi rental and stole a Samsonite weekend bag that had assorted items (Charge wireless speaker, a pair a dress shoes, souvenirs from grand canyon etc.) Mostly disappointed they got off with a small bag of sentimental jewelry. Any locals have any insight on where things get ditched after they're stolen? Is it worth calling parks and rec to inquire about their lost and found? We feel really stupid about leaving the one bag in the vehicle. Luckily took all other belongings into the place we're staying before venturing out. Would just really appreciate any advice. We fly out in two days.
