Tile setting is an art and is also closely related to stone setting. Stone and tile setting is rapidly becoming one of FSI's largest growth trades within the organization. With such a wide variety of tile and stone products available today, it is important to understand the processes and materials involved exceptionally well in order to prevent future failure modes such as cracked tile/stone, grout failure, and water damage. Knowing the right techniques to achieve a high-quality result when installing high end, and possibly different sized materials is a key component of creating art rather than a mess when working in high end conditions. A strong understanding of the processes including framing, waterproofing, tile/stone setting, grouting, and sealing are all vital to success in this position.
