Do you want to become a dental assistant? We can train you! Looking for a quick learner to join a fun and sophisticated office. You will be doing rewarding and purposeful work with patients that need your help. We are excited to train you in our office style - offering only excellence in care and customer service. We are a specialist of root canals and root canal surgeries. You will be integral in patient treatment as you will be using an assistant microscope. Experience is not required, in fact even the most veteran assistants have not had the privilege of using an assistant microscope (and need to be trained). $18-$28 base pay per hour. You will be compensated based on your ability to perform tasks with excellence. Increases are based on your ability to learn, acquire, and execute new skill sets. Full Benefits for full time: Benefits are commensurate with company tenure and they can include paid holidays, paid vacation days, paid sick days, medical insurance, parking allowance, uniform allowance, cafeteria plan (pretax dollars for health and child care), and retirement plan with 3% company match program (legal maximum). Schedule: M-TH 6:40am-4:30pm; Friday 6:40am-3:00pm Requirements: Impeccable Customer service and interpersonal skills (must work closely with dentists and patients. Sometimes, patients are in extreme pain and/or mental stress, so the assistant should be sensitive to their emotions.) Team mentality (willingness to support others and accept help; supportive of a conflict free workplace) Positive attitude Exceptional recall Attention to detail - both in ability to focus and complete tasks as well as manual dexterity Listening skills Communication skills (expresses thoughts and ideas competently) Stay organized even in a hectic schedule Punctual attendance Flexible in departure time (we are emergency based, and while typically we leave the office before 5pm, some surgeries run long and this time can fluctuate an hour and rarely two hours longer). Comfortable in assisting with new procedures Examples of Duties: Work with patients to make them comfortable in the dental chair and to prepare them for treatments and procedures Sterilize dental instruments, disinfect surface areas Prepare the work area for patient treatment by setting out instruments and materials Learn to use our software system, (TDO, Word, Excel, Carestream) Help dentists by handing them instruments during procedures Administer and monitor Nitrous and sedation under the direction of the dentist - physically assist sedated patients Be able to lift moderately heavy items Use your arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate required office equipment and supplies Keep patients’ treatment sites dry by using suction hoses and other equipment Instruct patients in proper pre-op and post-op instructions, make sure forms are signed and scanned Take and process x rays and CBCT scans and complete written reports, under the direction of the dentist Keep detailed and accurate records of dental treatments Assist in taking treatment photos through the microscope Keep public patient areas clean and orderly. Aid in scheduling patient appointments Work with patients on billing and payment
