Chain Construction is hiring! We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Carpenter to join our team. The optimal candidate is a detail oriented, motivated person that can work autonomously with minimal supervision and takes great pride in their work. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in carpentry, able to work with other types of trades, strong leadership skills, and the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and strongly focused on safety above all and at all times. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products. Responsibilities -Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements -Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed -Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements -Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones -Know when to move issues up to management -Coordinate and communicate with the Lead Carpenter -Read and interpret plans - recognize discrepancies, errors, and omissions in the drawings -Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items -Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible -Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated -Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance -Build scaffolding and other construction structures Skills -Carpentry skills (5+ years preferred) -Must be Tooled up! You must have: Toolbags, Tape Measure, Speed Square, Hammer, Knife, Punches, Skillsaw, Sawzall, Fine Tool, Drills, Impact Driver, Framing Gun, Finish Nailers, 2' & 4' Levels -Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and rules, regulations, and quality standards -Excellent time management skills -Must be able to lead a crew effectively with outstanding leadership skills and teach others -Strong construction math skills -Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others -Operate various equipment and power tools safely and efficiently -Good physical condition and stamina - must be able to lift 60lbs -Be a dependable, honest, hard working team player -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation -Drug Free Job Type: Full-time Compensation: Hourly Benefits: Health Insurance, 401K, & Paid Time Off Accrual ABOUT CHAIN CONSTRUCTION Over the years, the muscle behind Chain Construction has been built working on various types of engagements including Land Development, Historical Restoration, Adaptive Re-Use, Tenant Improvements, Hospitality, and Residential.
