Construction Technician #21-0176 Denver Water DENVER, CO DIVISION Operations and Maintenance POSITION TYPE Full-time REGULAR/ TEMPORARY Regular Posting Close Date Oct 15, 2021 Pay Range Min $20.48 to $Mid $26.01 Salary/Hourly Hourly Job Description Position Summary Denver Water is looking for experienced Construction Technicians or Construction Sr. Technicians to join our team! Under general supervision, this individual would do carpentry, roofing, locksmith, and painting on solo and team projects. Work with outside vendors/companies to complete tasks. Assist with training and development of lower-level staff. This individual will be working across Trades teams in support of other divisions, working at pump stations, treatment plants, DC stations, and even in the mountain facilities and caretaker homes. Strong problem-solving skills required. Company vehicle and tools provided during work hours. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform highly skilled painting work for new installations, remodeling, and repairs to include area preparation, sanding, application of paint, stain, varnish, etc., in facilities and on equipment including vehicles and machinery. • Perform concrete related repairs and installations including forms, bases, footers, foundations and other type flatwork. • Perform alterations, repairs and constructs of buildings, substructures, wood and steel enclosures, equipment, etc., as directed through work orders and customer requests. • Utilize blueprints and sketches to lay-out work to ensure proper fits and finishes. Will be required to utilize expertise for some design processes. • Track project costs, estimates projects, and orders materials.      • Perform shop and bench work using various hand and power tools such as saws, planes, chisels, squares, hammers, power saws, joiners, planers, sanders, brushes, planers, and sprayers, etc. • Estimate and procure materials to enhance the efficiency of the construction shop. • Perform related work as required. Location of Position Administration - Ops Complex-BLDA Additional Locations Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience • High School Diploma of GED. • Minimum 2 years of related work experience. • Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position. Licenses, Registration, and Certifications • Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class 'R' Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. • The employee will be required to operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 10,001-26,000 pounds.
