Help us BOO-tify Winthrop this Halloween and be voted the spookiest home/business in town! To Enter the Contest: 1. Submit your name addressphone number email to Winthrop Chamber of Commerce (WCOC) at [email protected]. 2. Pay your entry fee by Dropping off a $10 check or $10 cash to 207 Hagman Road in the mailbox slot on the left sidePurchasing a $10 "ticket" via EventbriteCalling 617-846-9898 to use a credit card*If you do not receive a confirmation message/email/phone call, please follow up so that we are sure not to miss you! 3. Deck out your home in your best Halloween gear, while adhering to the Rules for Participation (below). 4. Ensure your home/business is decorated by October 27th. Please submit one (1) photo that best showcases all your hard work to [email protected]. This photo will be posted on the WCOC social media pages. All likes (votes) will be tallied from the WCOC social media pages, not from a participant's personal page. Rules on photos/videos: Each entry will have a single photo that can be voted on. This entry can be a collage if the participant wishes, but no more than 5 photos are permitted within the collage.Likes (Votes) attained by photos added in the comments of participants' photos will not count to the overall like (votes) tally. All likes (votes) must be on the main photo for that participant.Videos are permitted in lieu of a photo-you may not have a video in addition to photos.The submission photos/collages/videos will be shared on our social media to encourage likes (voting), including Facebook, Instagram. The addresses will also be placed on a Google Map to encourage the community to drive around and see the displays in person. *Due to COVID-19 we do not recommend that homes be approached for viewing, and should be able to be judged from the sidewalk/street in front of the home to ensure appropriate social distancing. 5. Voting will occur between Friday, October 29th through Sunday, October 31st. Votes will be tallied via Facebook likes, Instagram likes (only from the WCOC social media pages as specified above), E-mails, or Phone calls to the WCOC. The house/business that receives the most likes (votes) will win a prize and will be announced on Monday, November 1. Rules for Participation Thank you for participating in our Halloween House Decorating contest. To be considered for judgment and eligible for prizes, participants must adhere to the following rules when decorating their homes/businesses: Decorations must be PG-13. Scariness and spookiness are encouraged, but gory, and excessively violent decorations do not lend themselves to the family friendly atmosphere we are trying to promote.Political leanings will not be permitted. Any inclusion of politics, politicians, or matters of contention or the like will be disqualified.Do not interfere with fire safety equipment. Public walkways must be kept clear for safety reasons.DISCLAIMER: I agree to allow the WCOC and staff to share my photograph as my entry on social media. I consent to allow my house location to be placed on a map to be made available to the public. I agree to hold harmless the WCOC and staff for any incidents or accidents that may occur, directly or indirectly, as a result of the BOO-tifying Winthrop House Decorating Contest.
