Job description: Award-winning design build residential landscape construction and maintenance company is seeking experienced, driven, passionate Horticultural Crew Leaders with gardening and leadership expertise to join our Maintenance Division. As one of our Horticultural Crew Leaders you will have an incredible opportunity to manage your team and garden on some of the most beautiful and prestigious landscapes in New Haven County area. Responsibilities: • Gardening • Installation and maintenance of woody, perennial, and annual plant material, including deadheading, cutbacks, dividing, fertilizing, etc. • Hand pruning of shrubs and small trees. • Container and annual bed design and planting. • Outdoor holiday decorating. • General landscaping and grounds keeping. Communication • Facilitate flow of information between the field and account managers. • Ensure account managers are always fully apprised of activities on their properties. • Maintain communication with clients while on their property. Planning • Ensure your crew is prepared for your daily tasks: equipment, tools, plant material, etc. Experience: • Prefer Bachelors degree in a landscape/horticultural field or equivalent experience. • 1-3 years experience estate gardening. • Supervisory experience. • MCH or MCLP a plus. General Requirements: • Valid driver license with clean driving record. • Ability to work in various weather conditions. • Good physical condition with an ability to lift 40lbs. ***Must prove Vaccination for COVID-19 A plus: Pesticide applicator license DOT Medical Card
