Wonder Girls Volunteer Day at United Way
Join WONDER GIRLS, for our monthly VOLUNTEER DAY AT UNITED WAY IN HAVERSTRAW, NY.
This event is open to girls in middle and high school. Girls under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Space is limited to 25 girls.
United Way advances the common good in communities across the world, focusing education, income and health—the building blocks for a good quality of life. Today's volunteer day is part of United Way of Rockland County's (UWRC) 2021 Fall Days of Caring. During the event we will be making approximately 150 Healthy Living Kits that will contain a jump rope with exercises, stress ball, word search booklet, bottle of water with information about the importance of drinking water, and education sheets on healthy eating, healthy living and stress.
Following is a tentative schedule:
5:00 - 5:30 - Welcome, Introduction to Health Department and Tai Chi activity
5:30 - 5:45: Introduction to United Way, Wonder Girls and Haverstraw Center
5:45 - 6:30: Make Healthy Living Kits
Our Wonder Girls will also network with other girls from all over New York and New Jersey, gain hands-on community experience, and learn about the importance of social responsibility and the various careers in the non-profit sector, a key component of the Wonder Girls program.
Space is limited. Masks are required.
