TICKETS NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, children's book author, Claudia Villarreal, will be available for a "Sit & Sign," meet and greet with the author for The Bully Who Learned to Love, and appearances from the character, Buddy, at The Twig Bookshop. Ideally for ages 4 to 10, this light-hearted illustrated children's book offers both kids and families a fun way to learn about the importance of being kind, respectful and patient with others who are different from us. *Books available for purchase at The Twig. About the Author Award-winning author, Claudia Villarreal, has given thousands of presentations for hundreds of schools across Texas and has sold over 33,000 copies of her children's books to date. Claudia was born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Zapata, a small South Texas border community. She graduated from Zapata High School and went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M International University. After obtaining an alternative teaching certification, Ms. Villarreal became a Special Education teacher in various school districts in both Texas and California. She is also an actress and a member of The Screen Actor’s Guild. Claudia wears many hats, from Educator to Business Owner to Professional Actress to Children’s Book Author. Her first children’s book, The Alphabet Thief Who Stole the Vowels, was also a huge hit. The Bully Who Learned to Love was published in 2019. The goal of Ms. Villarreal’s latest endeavor is to help open dialogue about diversity and bullying. Ms. Villarreal’s new book tackles issues that are often hard to discuss.
