Description
Get in touch with your inner bohemian in this fun BYOB evening learning how to macramé! With origins in the 13th century, macramé is a crafting technique that uses knotting methods to create beautiful designs. It had its heyday in the ‘60s and ‘70s (Three’s Company anyone?) but these days it’s making a huge comeback. There’s lots to love about macramé: it’s low cost, easy to learn, and uses accessible materials like cotton, twin, hemp, leather, and yarn. During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn 3 types of macramé techniques (wrap knot, half knot, and square knot) while crafting your very own plant hanger to bring home. All materials will be provided, including: 100% natural wooden ring, 100% recycled cotton cord in your choice of color, 1 plant for your hanger (optional) This is a beginner-level workshop and is open to curious crafters of all skill levels. Grab a friend (and a beverage of your choice!) and join in the fun while we create boho-chic hanging plant holders from high-quality and sustainable materials. Once the workshop is complete, you’ll be able to apply your new macramé skills to making beautiful, custom creations for your home, or to give as gifts. Details: When: Weds. Oct. 13, 2021 from 7-9 PMWhere: HudCo at 145 Palisade St. in Dobbs Ferry, NY (a 10-minute walk from the Dobbs Ferry Metro North station).
