SAC Connect will be hosting a community wellness and resource fair for ourHealth & Education Approach to Reduce Stimulant Use Project. The steady rise in stimulant use and associated deaths from drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine portend an extremely concerning future. At the same time, illegally manufactured fentanyl, an extremely potent synthetic opioid, and its analogs, such as carfentanil, are increasingly and without users' awareness being mixed into stimulants, predisposing a greater risk of overdose and death. This wellness fair presents an opportunity to openly discuss this growing epidemic, provide the community with intervention resources, and begin to address stigma of seeking help.
