Join Service Unit 111 as we explore Keenan Cemetery, the oldest in Dallas County. Our October event is one for the history books! The Farmers Branch Historical Park has created a scavenger hunt for Keenan Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Dallas County. Our Girl Scouts will learn cemetery and gravestone etiquette, complete a scavenger hunt and headstone rubbings. This is a unique and fun opportunity for girls to learn about an important piece of our local history. All registered participants will receive a fun patch. We are encouraging troops to stay together while touring the cemetery with their leaders and/or volunteers in order to keep the event running in an organized fashion. Then, we will all head over to Gussie Field Watterworth Park to make swaps, some Halloween treats, s'mores and playing at the park!
