I have a red ear that was rescued from a trash can. It's big enough to be introduced to a private pond or needs at least 100 gallons. It should be nearly full grown, we've had it about 3 years and it's gone from roughly 2.5" to around 8" I haven't measured it and the breed regularly gets up to 12". It's definitely outgrown it's current set up and it's not really fair to keep it under the conditions it's currently in. It's recommended to give them at least 10 gallons per inch of shell. It's become very difficult to keep up with maintaining it's current tank and again it's just not fair for us to keep it under the current conditions it's living in. Not asking for any money, simply a picture of where you'll be keeping it and some experience with them will satisfy requirements to pick it up. The thing is, they're invasive and we can't release one here as they out compete natives for food in the wild. So if you can help please do. We would greatly appreciate it and I'm sure turtle will too. He has a bottom feeder friend that's pretty big too, probably around 10" in length and 2.5" at it's widest point not counting fins. They're starting to pick on each other but it's a space thing, they're pretty good buddies most of the time.
