State Trooper Seriously Injured After Cruiser Struck In Weston

WESTON — A Massachusetts State Trooper is seriously injured after his cruiser was struck by a tractor-trailer while working a detail in Weston Tuesday night. The officer was protecting a road construction crew on the southbound side of Route 128 just before midnight when he was hit. Though State Police say he was in an unmarked cruiser, his emergency lights were flashing before he was struck. Route 128 South closed for several hours after the crash, as the trailer jackknifed across the highway due to the impact, police say. All lanes of the highway are now open. Police say the trooper suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Boston hospital, but was conscious enough to radio in the ancient. No other information has been released.
