Learn about several established community gardens in our area & the Eastern United States. Key health and policy discussions will inform. This conference will provide an opportunity to hear from an impressive gathering of leaders in the State of Florida, including the Commissioner of Agriculture, who will give the keynote address in support of urban agriculture. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to benefit start up costs of new community gardens. Ticket holders will be offered the opportunity to request a refund. Lunch will be provided - vegan lunches are available. Reception and garden tour of the Plant City Commons Community Garden will follow the conference. For more information about the Coalition of Community Gardens, go to www.communitygardenstb.org This organization was formed in 2015 by Lena Young Green and Kitty Wallace. Along with 4 other existing community gardens with the intention of providing support for the success and formation of community gardens in West Central Florida. Members of the Coalition meet quarterly, and offer an annual conference to the community to inform, inspire and provide an opportunity to network with other urban agriculture advocates.
