NORTHPORT, NY — Two pairs of bonded siblings, each around 5 months old, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week. Dill and Lavender, as well as Missy and Lucas, are all waiting for their forever homes. Dill and Lavender, a brother and sister, were born on Easter Sunday, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. They were both born with what she called the "most amazing markings." "Sadly, they are spending their kittenhood in our habitats," Wild wrote in an email. "Each day they look out of their cages mewing for company. When our volunteers come to play, they jump out with such excitement. They are adorable, playful, and sweet." Dill has a white stripe on his nose and loves to play with toys, while Lavender is a silly girl who loves to run thru the tunnels, Wild said. Although they are bonded to each other, they love the company of people just as much. Missy and Lucas, also a bonded sister and brother, have been passed over time and time again, according to Wild. "None of the volunteers at NCRA can understand why," she said. "They are curious and playful. They are such a funny pair that keep us all entertained with their silly antics. They are so sweet and purr whenever you pet them. They stare out of their habitats all day, excitedly waiting for their turn to come out and play." All four kittens are waiting for their forever homes. "As summer came to an end, and everyone's lives started to become busier, these four have been left behind waiting patiently," Wild said. "Our hopes are they don't spend the rest of their kittenhood in a cage and get the chance to grow up with love in a home with their very own families. They all love visitors; we would be happy to set up a meet and greet with them at our habitats!" They are all spayed or neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
