Lam’s Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical infrastructure systems at the Fremont and Livermore sites. Core electrical systems of responsibility includes (but is not limited to) medium voltage systems (21kV distribution) and low voltage systems (480V/208V distribution, UPS, Emergency Generator/ATS). Ensures proper maintenance is performed (actively coordinating with Operations) and records properly evaluated and follow up on to assure the health of the system. Success in this role requires strong industrial design experience and solid troubleshooting skills. Job Duties: • Track, monitor, and report on load and capacity from the service level down to branch circuit panels • Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time • Maintain short circuit coordination and arc flash analyses • Support as-build documentation of electrical system and single line diagrams • Maintain load/capacity reports for infrastructure systems • Maintain electrical panel schedules • Perform review and approval of electrical circuit requests • Identify infrastructure improvements to drive operating costs down and/or support more robust electrical integrity enhancing system uptime • Provide electrical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects • Provide electrical engineering construction input and commissioning support for facility infrastructure projects • Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phase • Manage and approve all electrical circuit modifications and ensure contractor installations reflect work orders • Manage and report on expenses and capital budgets associated with electrical projects Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering • Five+ years’ electrical design experience in an industrial environment • Ability to evaluate and generate coordination studies and arc fault analysis • Experience with variable speed drive systems • Advanced knowledge of modeling multi-buss electrical systems (ex., Easy Power) • Must be willing and able to work onsite full-time • Post-COVID, must be willing and able to travel up to 5% as needed Additional skills and abilities beneficial for this role include a Professional Engineer license; working knowledge of NFPA/NEC & NETA requirements; proficiency with troubleshooting, problem solving, and root cause analysis; continuous improvement and innovative mindset; ability to support multiple concurrent projects and assignments; value internal and cross-functional teamwork to solve problems; ability to thrive working in a fast paced, high energy work environment; and solid written and oral communication skills.
