The school building has been evacuated. Police are searching the facility for any signs of possible explosive devices. UPDATE FROM MOUNT VERNON SCHOOLS: "Today's bomb threat at MVHS was a false alarm," Mount Vernon Schools Superintendent Kenneth Hamilton said in a statement released just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday. "Dr. Gonzales and the exceptional MVHS leadership team were able to swiftly implement the emergency response protocols. MVPD and MVFD were swift to respond and provided the necessary resources to ensure safety for staff and students. The anonymous call is being fully investigated by local and federal authorities.
