OAK CREEK, WI — Saturday will mark the first return of Oak Creek's "Culture, Art, Food, Entertainment" event since the start of the pandemic. If you're hankering for a taste of some diverse cuisine, or just want to try something new, this event is for you. The festival, which started in 2019 but has been postponed since the pandemic, goes by the name C.A.F.E. It plans on highlighting the diverse organizations and people in Oak Creek representing the Middle East, Cuba, Albania, Hmong people and Sikh people through authentic food, educational presentations, music and dance, according to a news release from the City of Oak Creek. "We are so eager to bring the C.A.F.E. event back to Drexel Town Square," Mayor Dan Bukiewicz said. "The inaugural event in 2019 far exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to expanding this event every year. I encourage everyone to stop by for this vibrant cultural experience celebrating our community's diversity." The 2nd iteration of the event joins the Oak Creek Farmers Market's regularly planned vendors. The additional food vendors will represent a wide slice of heritage, but when it comes to actual food items, it will be a day full of surprises, according to Laura Nelson, tourism and business relations manager for Oak Creek. The Details: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, October 2. Drexel Town Square, Oak Creek. Learn more about the festival at Oak Creek's website.
