Here are the top stories today in Buffalo: The prosecution has rested in South Buffalo man's murder trial, allowing the defense team to start their case and bring witnesses to the stand. The suspect, Shane Casado, is facing a second-degree murder charge for the death of his estranged girlfriend back in Nov. 2018, 22-year-old Rachael Wierzbicki. The trial is expected to last about another week and resumes Thursday at 9:30 a.m. (WGRZ.com)A code of ethics complaint has been filed over the use of Buffalo Police officers in the "Brown for Buffalo" campaign ad. The ad, sponsored by the "Brown for Buffalo" campaign, claims Buffalo Mayor Democratic Nominee India Walton plans to fire 100 Buffalo Police officers as part of her public safety plan if she's elected in November. The Board of Ethics has two weeks to respond.
