THE TEAM: On the Production Team, our primary focus is order fulfillment for our online retail and dealer sales. As the shipping & logistics specialist you will join a small team of 10 dedicated professionals. Clean Republic is rapidly growing and promotes leadership positions from within, so this position is a career opportunity with training in the first 90 days for Hazmat specialist and freight specialist promotions. KEY JOB DUTIES: * Timely and accurate shipping of products to customers all over the world. Includes packing boxes and printing UPS & Fedex shipping labels. * Shipping and packaging orders for shipment (this is 80%+ of the daily work flow). * Checking Hazmat battery shipments follow all safety protocols and the paperwork is correct (previous hazmat shipping experience, and/or hazmat shipping certification is a bonus. If not, all employees receive a hazmat certification training in the first 90 days) * Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. * Assembling bicycles, bike wheels, batteries, solar water kits, and other miscellaneous products * Taking on and completing assigned production-related projects and tasks * Constantly thinking of and discussing ways to improve shipping & logistics processes POTENTIAL JOB DUTIES: * Freight specialist training: shipping pallets of batteries to business & industry customers. * Shipping Hazardous Materials training & certification in the first 90 days: shipping large batteries with hazmat paperwork to US & Canada. * International shipping training: shipping batteries to international customers. * Keeping inventory count DESIRED SKILLS: * Ability and desire to work with hands for most of the day * Ability to self-manage work and complete assigned projects on time * Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people * Ability to learn how to use shipping software and other online tools (training provided) * Desire to work in an environment where you will help impact change and growth * Innovative and creative problem-solving skills * Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. * Strong attention to detail * Spatial reasoning skills * Strong customer service skills (this position has minimal customer interaction, but as a small company your career may grow to include more customer interactions). * Bonus for experience with shipping software and/or working on a team that ships a high volume of packages. * SUPER BONUS: Hazmat shipping certification or experience with Hazmat shipping COMPENSATION, HOURS, & BENEFITS: * Starting pay of $17.00 - 18 per hour DOE, increasing to $19 - 20/hr after 90 days once required training and certifications are completed. Plus $300 to 700/month sales growth bonus (see below) * $1 to $2/hr performance raise after completing all required training in the first 90 days, including hazmat shipping certification (total $19/hr after 90 days, plus $300 – 700/month bonus – see below). * Eligible for monthly sales growth bonus program after first three (3) months (Typically $300 - $700 / mo). This is a revenue sharing bonus, like profit sharing. As the company grows a portion of sales growth is shared among all employees each month. The company is growing rapidly, so this bonus has been large recently. * 35 to 40 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible, but the typical schedule is 9am-4pm Monday-Friday with paid breaks and paid lunch. Work takes place in our warehouse in Sodo, Seattle. * Company paid medical (Premera Blue Cross) and dental (Delta Dental) insurance provided upon hire. * 401K retirement plan. 100% vested upon hire (that means you own whatever goes into it). * 120 paid time off hours per year, equal to just over three (3) weeks off.
