so...I've been thinking about this for a few months now. I guess I was waiting for the 'right' moment...whatever and whenever that was going to be...lol the gist of it is: I've had this bongo drum for years...actually bought for more of a decoration than anything else (got it on clearance for just $35...wow, right?). Well, I started thumping it a little. And, I thought it might be fun to get together with some other wanna-be's, and make some noise. I was thinking improved jazz, or something like that...if that's a way to put it. I don't read music, and I'm not very good with it (yet..? lmao). And, it's not a set or anything...it's just the one drum. So, I'm only looking for others who have pretty much zero expectations, and also find this premise 'interesting', at best. I'm sure, if you are an experienced musician, I would simply frustrate you...as I have no idea what I'm doing. (harken back to the very beginnings of inner-city rap, where you grabbed a pot, and made some noise...get the picture?) So...this would just be for fun and creativity (if we're lucky)...following no preconceived notions about what music is supposed to sound like, etc. - I just thought we could just kinda do our thing, if it works out that way (yay!) anyone else on here remember FM radio station 91.1 (I think that's right...shrugging), from the early 80's? I remember they had hour-long sessions where someone just banged on a pot...for like, the whole hour. Maybe, if there are a few of us, we can combine our goofball sounds, and make something interesting. And, I'm open to using ANYthing for instruments...almost like old-fashioned mountain music. anyone else feel me? and..I'm in no hurry or anything. I was just browsing through all the community postings, and thought "why not" I hope everyone is having a great day. ttyl
