Chipotle Names Basketball Player From DC Area Athlete Ambassador

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington's Azzi Fudd, who is a freshman guard at on the University of Connecticut women's basketball team, recently signed with Chipotle Mexican Grill to become one of the brand's inaugural college athlete ambassadors. On July 1, the NCAA adopted a new policy allowing colleges athletes to profit from their name and likenesses. Chipotle published a post on Twitter inviting fans to tag a college athlete in need who could use the company's sponsorship. Fudd and fellow athlete ambassador Jaiden Fields of the University of Georgia will collaborate with Chipotle during the year to promote its "Real Food For Real Athletes" platform. The program is designed to help athletes at all levels improve their performance by eating "real food and real ingredients," according to a Chipotle release. Fudd and Field will also receive Chipotle celebrity cards, giving them access to free Chipotle food. A graduate of St. John's High School in Washington, D.C., Fudd is a three-time DC Player of the Year and two-time National Player of the Year.
