ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County firefighters were reunited with a dog they rescued from under a vehicle in August, according to a post on the fire department's official Twitter account.
Fire units responded on the evening of Aug. 9 for the report of a crash with injuries. Arriving on the scene, fire personnel determined that a dog named Sonny was trapped under a vehicle.
While rescue personnel aided people involved in the crash, the crew of Engine 110 from the North Battalion in Rosslyn used wooden wedges and a ladder to raise the vehicle and free Sonny. They then moved the dog to a safe location where he could be evaluated and treated.
On Tuesday, the crew of Engine 110 reunited with Sonny and were happy to learn that he is doing well, according to the tweet.
Utilizing a ladder and wooden wedges, the crew was able to lift the vehicle off Sonny and move her to a safe location to treat and evaluate.
