Press release from the Jefferson Parish Government: September 28, 2021 Full list of testing and vaccination sites in Jefferson Parish is updated regularly at COVID.JeffParish.net JEFFERSON, LA – Starting Friday, October 1, 2021, free drive-thru COVID-19 testing and walk-up COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer and J&J) will resume at the Alario Center (2000 Segnette Blvd, Westwego, LA 70094). This site will be open every Monday – Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to be tested is encouraged to pre-register at Quest Diagnostics. Testing at the Alario Center is available to individuals five years or older who want to know their COVID-19 status. Individuals under 16 years old must have a parent or legal guardian present to consent to testing. Everyone 12 and older is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Louisiana (Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for people ages 12-17). Effective immediately, booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine are available to adults at increased risk, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Any individual that received the Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months ago and meets one of the following criteria is eligible for a booster: Visit COVID.JeffParish.net to stay updated on COVID-19 in Jefferson Parish, including available resources, weekly testing/vaccine sites, local dashboard and more.
