AUSTIN, TX — The House of Torment in Austin has been ranked one of the top haunted attractions in America by the Haunted Attraction Association. The haunted house in Austin was one of 45 haunted attractions across the country to earn the title of "Top Haunted Attraction." The House of Torment was the only haunted house in the city to win the title. Its sister attraction 13th Floor Haunted House San Antonio also earned the top title. The Haunted Attraction Association, which is the only official association in the haunt industry, has certified haunts across the country as official "Top Haunted Attractions." Live in Austin? To be certified, attractions must be a member of HAA and meet a list of 10 criteria relating back to the mission of HAA – to protect customers, promote haunted attractions, and educate industry professionals. The association says House of Torment is the "premier haunted attraction in Austin, Texas" and features elaborate Hollywood-quality sets, iconic characters portrayed by talented actors, towering animatronics monsters and terrifying scenarios. In 2021, House of Torment introduces three new attractions: Operation: Laughing Place, The Boogeyman, and The Foresaken, featuring all-new terrifying sets, costumes and special effects designed to thrill newcomers and longtime fans. The Austin haunted house has been featured on Buzzfeed, Travel Channel, Huff Post and Discovery Channel, and is regarded as the "most terrifying haunted house in Austin."
