HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A man from Paterson was charged in a joint investigation, after he was stopped in Hackettstown for carrying "over 1,000 packets of suspected heroin," Warren County's prosecutor says.
In a news release on Tuesday, Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer announced that Marquis L. Wedderburn of Paterson was charged in a Sept. 23 incident, after he was stopped by the Hackettstown Police Department, on the heels of a month-long investigation into heroin distribution.
The Hackettstown, Washington Township and Mansfield Township Police Departments, as well as the New Jersey State Police, worked together with the Warren County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force to investigate, Pffeifer said.
The Prosecutor's Office charged Wedderburn, who was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility, with two counts of distributing heroin and two counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin, which Pfeiffer said could carry a maximum sentence of 10 years each in state prison.
