WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A utility pole was seriously damaged in a fire Wednesday morning in the 4600 block of Johnson Avenue in Western Springs, the village said in a statement. To perform repair work, ComEd plans to shut off power on Johnson and Franklin avenues, between 46th and 47th streets, potentially extending to 45th Street, the village said. The precise outage area has not been confirmed. Firefighters remain at the site of the fire.
