Pottstown Marching Band Take First Place In Cavalcade of Bands

POTTSTOWN, PA — Pottstown High School Marching Band became champions at a recent competition when they walked away with a first place trophy. After a long day of practice that began in the early morning hours, the Pottstown High School Marching Band took home first place in the American Open Class at the Boyertown Arlen Saylor Cavalcade of Bands competition on Sept. 25. Pottstown High School Marching Band Director David Bonilla-Garcia reported it was the band's first outing of the season. They netted a score of 71.6 to take first place and win both the High Percussion and High Auxiliary awards. Under the direction of Bonilla-Garcia, the band begins its competitive season strong as they continue towards the Cavalcade of Bands Championships to be held Nov. 13 in Hershey. "All of our students are working hard to develop their skills and perform at the highest level. They are building the foundation for future success," Bonilla-Garcia said. Pottstown School District Communications Manager John Armato submitted this photo of the Pottstown High School Marching Band. Armato said to catch a glimpse at the Pottstown High School Marching Band's 2021 field production titled, "Departure," band supporters and fans should come out to the remaining Trojan football games. The band will appear at the following competitions and festivals this fall: Oct. 2: Owen J.
